About the position

Green Ivy Schools is seeking on-call Substitute Teachers for the 2024-2025 school year at Pine Street School in New York, NY. The role involves stepping in for absent teachers across Preschool, Elementary, and Middle School levels, utilizing effective teaching practices aligned with the International Baccalaureate (IB) and Montessori philosophies. The ideal candidate will foster a nurturing and supportive learning environment while collaborating with fellow educators.

Responsibilities

• Create welcoming and stimulating learning environments.
• Assist children during bathroom or hygiene-related activities (Preschool only).
• Follow the classroom schedule, activities, and norms as guided by the team.
• Step in for absent teachers and adhere to the guidance of other teachers or the Parent Liaison.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Education or a related field (Master's preferred).
• Minimum of two (2) years teaching experience.
• Fluent in English, capable of attending workshops and collaborating effectively.
• Knowledge of IB and/or Montessori curriculum and philosophy.

Nice-to-haves

• Montessori and/or IB teaching experience preferred.
