About the position

The PKI Analyst - Junior position at SAIC involves supporting the Department of State's Bureau of Diplomatic Technology program, specifically focusing on the deployment and management of Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) systems. This role is essential for ensuring secure access and identity management within the Department, contributing to the overall mission of U.S. foreign policy. The position requires on-site work in Springfield, VA, and involves direct interaction with end users to facilitate PKI credential management and training.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as PKI Registration Authority (RA) responsible for creating, recovering, and revoking PKI credentials for OpenNet and ClassNet systems.
  • Provide customer service and support PKI-related services at the DT IT Mart for walk-in customers.
  • Conduct face-to-face user validation for the issuance of PKI certificates.
  • Issue Smart Cards containing PKI Certificates.
  • Train end users in the operation of PKI hardware and software.
  • Provide telephony help support for PKI.
  • Maintain training, process, and procedural documentation.
  • Review and update Installation, Training, and User Guide documentation.
  • Train security officers, network administrators, and Local Registration Authorities (LRAs) in the operations and security of the PKI program.
  • Support the Foreign Service Institute (FSI) in developing, reviewing, and implementing PKI training courses.
  • Develop and improve the process for installing appropriate PKI/BLADE hardware, software, and other required software packages.
  • Support deployment activities and maintain the PKI deployment project plan.
  • Coordinate deployment logistics and travel worldwide to diplomatic facilities and government sites as required.

Requirements

  • AA degree and six (6) years of experience; OR HS and eight (8) years of experience.
  • Familiarity with Active Directory.
  • Experience installing, configuring, and managing Active Directory environment highly desired.
  • Interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively, self-awareness, and excellent written and oral communications.
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain interim Top Secret clearance prior to starting work.

  • Experience in security engineering.
