About the position

Optomi is seeking an experienced Oracle PL/SQL Developer to join a leading independent oil and natural gas company in the United States. This role involves designing, developing, and optimizing PL/SQL code and database solutions, with a strong focus on performance tuning and collaboration with UI teams. The position requires on-site presence in downtown Houston, TX, five days a week.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize PL/SQL code, procedures, functions, and packages.
• Write complex SQL queries to retrieve and manipulate data.
• Develop and implement database triggers, stored procedures, and views.
• Analyze and troubleshoot database performance issues.
• Collaborate with business analysts and other stakeholders to gather and refine requirements.
• Perform database schema design, data modeling, and normalization.
• Ensure data integrity and security in database solutions.
• Prepare and maintain documentation for database processes and design.
• Participate in code reviews and provide feedback on database development best practices.
• Support application deployment and database migration activities.
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production issues.

Requirements

• Minimum of 8 years and maximum of 12 years of working experience in total.
• Strong PL/SQL Development Skills.
• Proficient in database development utilizing partitions, dbms jobs, packages, procedures, function and Oracle user defined types.
• Proficient in working with UI teams/applications and using cursors, XML, JSON etc.
• Strong experience in developing end-to-end jobs as part of ETL.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL tuning skills.
• Data analysis skills to debug, trace, and fix performance problems.
