About the position

The Senior PL/SQL Developer role at Capgemini involves designing, developing, and optimizing complex SQL queries for data extraction and reporting, with a focus on migrating SQL Server queries to Oracle databases. Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and optimize complex SQL queries for data extraction, reporting, and integration.
  • Migrate and translate SQL Server queries into Oracle while ensuring optimized performance and functionality.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve migration-related issues in Oracle PL/SQL code, ensuring smooth migration processes.
  • Perform validation and reconciliation of data during migration projects to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Develop and maintain efficient Oracle PL/SQL code for applications and databases, focusing on performance optimization and scalability.
  • Leverage Python or R for basic data validation and reconciliation tasks, aiding in automation and accuracy.
  • Work closely with various teams including database administrators, software engineers, and business analysts to design robust database solutions.

Requirements

  • Extensive experience with Oracle database development (7-10 years), including tuning and optimization.
  • Proven experience in PL/SQL development (7-10 years), with a focus on high-performance code.
  • Mastery of SQL (7-10 years), with the ability to write, debug, and optimize complex queries.
  • Strong experience with both SQL Server and Oracle databases, including migrating SQL Server queries to Oracle.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and resolve Oracle PL/SQL code migration issues.
  • Familiarity with Python or R for data validation and reconciliation purposes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
  • Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with version control tools like Git.
  • Experience with ETL tools and processes.
