About the position
The KDB Expert will serve as the sole expert in the US time zone, responsible for supporting KDB transaction and market data ticker plants while also engaging in development tasks. This role requires advanced expertise in KDB/q and involves daily coding, collaboration with business stakeholders, and contributing to architectural design discussions.
Responsibilities
- Support KDB transaction and market data ticker plants.
- Daily coding in KDB/q and KDB scripting.
- Utilize C++/Python for development tasks, though these are only about 5% of daily responsibilities.
- Understand equities markets and trade flows.
- Translate business requirements into design specifications.
- Develop in a low latency environment and communicate objectives with stakeholders.
- Liaise with regional and global teams to ensure effective collaboration.
- Take end-to-end responsibility for delivery, including defining and delivering hardware infrastructure and deploying KDB components.
- Establish monitoring with support teams for KDB components.
- Contribute to architectural design discussions to shape the platform's strategic direction.
Requirements
- Advanced KDB/q expertise with a high level of proficiency.
- Experience in coding with KDB/q and KDB scripting.
- Familiarity with equities markets and trade flows.
- Experience in a low latency development environment.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with stakeholders and teams.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with C++ and Python, though not a primary focus.
