About the position

The City of Minneapolis is seeking a Plan Examiner II Architect to join the Plan Review Section of the Construction Code Services Division. This exempt position is primarily responsible for reviewing commercial projects to ensure compliance with the Minnesota Energy Code, as well as evaluating both commercial and residential building construction and remodeling documents for adherence to the Minnesota Building Code and local ordinances.

Responsibilities

• Review commercial projects for compliance with the Minnesota Energy Code.
• Evaluate commercial and residential building construction documents for conformance to the Minnesota Building Code.
• Assess remodeling documents to ensure they meet city ordinances and regulations.

Requirements

• Experience in architectural design or construction management.
• Knowledge of the Minnesota Energy Code and Minnesota Building Code.
• Ability to interpret and apply building codes and regulations.
