About the position

Planetree is a dynamic and innovative global healthcare organization seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team as the Director of Education & Product Development. The Director will manage projects related to Planetree's work in education, consulting, and community engagement, including development of educational content, training programs, and other Planetree products and services. This role is pivotal within the Engagement team at Planetree, dedicated to expanding person centered approaches to healthcare globally. Reporting to the Vice President of Engagement, this position shapes the future of Planetree's education initiatives, significantly contributing to the organization's success and impact. The Director is responsible for the planning, management, and successful execution of educational programs and other Planetree products, ensuring alignment with the organization's mission, objectives, and standards of excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Manage Planetree's product roadmap, including product development timeline and process, in alignment with Planetree's strategic plan, mission, and vision
  • Acquire and maintain an in-depth understanding of Planetree's person-centered care (PCC) framework, products, and services
  • Understand, implement, and teach process improvement methodologies
  • Align development of new products and services to the Planetree strategic plan, mission, and vision and to the existing Planetree product portfolio
  • Work collaboratively with team members across Planetree offices to improve and unify products and services
  • Develop and revise instructional materials for use in online and offline training, education, and consulting products and services in alignment with Planetree's PCC curriculum
  • Develop and manage online courses (including learning objectives, interactive elements, assessments, etc.) using Articulate 360 in alignment with Planetree's content and brand standards
  • Engage external partners, SMEs, Instructional Designers, and others as required for content development
  • Seek feedback and evaluation data to inform continuous improvement in product development
  • Continuously evolve and improve Planetree tools and resources in alignment with organizational and market needs
  • Secure and manage CME/CEU accreditation for Planetree educational offerings
  • Customize instructional content and materials based on client needs as required
  • Work as a collaborative team member to achieve Planetree's strategic goals
  • Contribute to Planetree's organizational learning by bringing field experiences to drive innovation
  • Live and uphold Planetree's mission, vision, and values
  • Complete mandatory training as required

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of experience in education, instructional design, or healthcare, including co-design
  • Demonstrated commitment and/or lived experience of driving positive change in healthcare
  • Highly engaged self-starter who takes initiative to effectively manage workload
  • Ability to think strategically and pragmatically to realize a future vision
  • Able to manage projects accounting for timelines, dependencies, and contractual requirements
  • Able to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Advanced communication skills, including written, verbal, and non-verbal
  • Demonstrates compassion and empathy in interactions with others
  • Flexible and able to adapt appropriately to various situations and conditions
  • Able to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare, education or another relevant field (e.g., nursing, healthcare administration, business, public health, or management)
  • Master's degree in a healthcare- or education-related discipline

  • Demonstrated ability to utilize the principles, methodologies and practices of adult education, instructional design, evaluation, and research
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills for program coordination/evaluation and working with groups
  • Demonstrated ability to use a variety of presentation skills and education and facilitation techniques
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills; highly professional and diplomatic approach
  • Experience in training and process documentation
  • History of effectively managing multiple competing responsibilities with the ability to prioritize and drive critical business objectives
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale online education initiatives
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and adapt to evolving business needs
  • Excellent at meeting deadlines
  • Prior knowledge or experience of Planetree and/or person-centered care
  • Previous experience within a healthcare organization or educational institution
  • Previous experience with CME/CEU accreditation
  • Previous experience delivering consulting services
