About the position

The Maintenance Planner role at Freeport-McMoRan is essential within the Maintenance organization, focusing on the planning, scheduling, and execution of maintenance activities to enhance equipment availability and reduce maintenance costs. The Planner I will collaborate with site supervisors to organize workload activities, participate in planning meetings, and ensure the readiness of materials and equipment resources. This position requires effective communication and the ability to maintain accurate information in the management system to support maintenance management decisions.

Responsibilities

• Identify, collect, organize, and document work order job steps with operations.
• Plan, schedule, and prioritize activities in collaboration with site supervisors.
• Participate in daily, weekly, and monthly planning meetings with key stakeholders.
• Review, prioritize, and schedule work orders.
• Maintain schedules in the management system (SAP).
• Engage with onsite Global Supply Chain to control warehouse levels of materials and parts.
• Support execution of contracts by preparing scopes of work for internal and external jobs.
• Collaborate with senior Planners and supervisors for planned major production shutdowns.
• Generate regular and ad hoc reports for site management.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED with four years of specific experience in field maintenance in mining/manufacturing or industrial operations.
• Associates in technical field with two years of related experience in field maintenance.
• Bachelor's degree in technical field with one year of related experience in field maintenance.
• General knowledge of Maintenance Planning.
• Basic understanding of Mining and/or Process Equipment.
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Office applications.
• Demonstrated professional written and oral communications skills.
