About the position

The Planner II position at Leonardo DRS Land Systems involves managing program material requirements to ensure timely production delivery. This role is crucial for maintaining accurate inventory levels and supporting work order builds, thereby contributing to the overall efficiency of production operations.

Responsibilities

  • Select and sequence available jobs based on MPS driven demand for specific workstations or machines.
  • Meet weekly with Contracts to review pending and recently received demands and assign planner responsibilities.
  • Manage overall workload and align resources to maintain balance.
  • Drive consistent communications between planning, project accounting, and project management for accurate project Material EAC's and Execution Charts.
  • Improve current systems, functions, and daily operations to meet goals effectively.
  • Maintain manufacturing build plans on a daily basis.
  • Maintain run and set up times associated with each job/product/part.
  • Create and maintain expected completion timelines for scheduled jobs.
  • Review schedules to ensure raw materials are available as needed.
  • Create forward-looking plans for purchase requisitions and monitor material deliveries.
  • Ensure all outside services are planned and monitored.
  • Consolidate demand for purchase requisitions.
  • Highlight critical parts and issues that may hinder operations from meeting the MPS.
  • Support and communicate the mission, values, and culture of the company.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 3 years demonstrated experience.
  • Solid understanding of business processes and functional inter-relationships.
  • Strong background in project material management.
  • Extensive experience in production planning.
  • Skilled in the use of Excel, Excel Pivot Tables, Power Point, Word, and Sharepoint.
  • Strong understanding of MRP systems.
