About The Position

The Planner role in the Portfolio Planning department at National Grid is focused on managing and coordinating multiple field location schedules and activities. The position aims to ensure that regulatory, budget, work performance, productivity, and internal customer expectations are met while supporting the overall delivery of Capital and Expense workplans. The Planner will play a crucial role in optimizing resource needs and implementing best practices to enhance operational efficiency.

Requirements

• Associate degree in a related area or equivalent work experience.
• 1-3 years' experience in a relevant field.
• Proficient in Office 365 programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Knowledge of energy system operations and National Grid policies and processes.
• Experience managing project teams and projects independently.
• Valid driver's license required.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Salesforce software.

Responsibilities

• Manage, balance, and coordinate external and internal resources to optimize short and long-term resource needs.
• Promote and implement procedural best practices to execute the annual Capital and Expense plans.
• Keep up to date with regulatory developments within the energy industry to ensure optimization of best practices.
• Provide technical guidance, support, and coaching to others to share knowledge and develop technical understanding.
• Report and monitor monthly resource levels and predictions to Resource Planning for performance measurement.
• Develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders to share best practices and ensure timely project delivery.
• Challenge existing ways of working and continuously seek better efficiencies.
