About the position

The Planner at Southwire Company LLC is responsible for managing Scheduling and Sales, Inventory, and Operations (SIOP) planning. This role involves driving plant loading to achieve profit plans and ensuring monthly forecast accuracy. The Planner will develop and issue production schedules for all product lines, while optimizing planning processes to meet customer expectations and overall profit goals.

Responsibilities

• Schedule and manage Sales, Inventory, and Operations (SIOP) planning.
• Drive plant loading to meet profit plans and forecast accuracy.
• Develop and issue executable production schedules for all product lines.
• Communicate daily with Production Supervisors, Buyers/Planners, Engineering, and Customer Service to ensure adherence to production plans.
• Develop recovery plans as needed to address scheduling issues.
• Deliver detailed capacity and resource planning based on incoming orders and forecasts.
• Monitor order backlog and incoming order rates to inform financial strategies.
• Coordinate with departments to ensure smooth material and information flow.
• Lead Supply Chain continuous improvement activities and cost-saving initiatives.
• Develop MRP policies and planning methods to optimize resources for customer delivery schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years of experience in supply chain, forecasting, or SIOP planning.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals in English.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence in English.
• Knowledge of SIOP planning, materials planning systems, and inventory control.
• Experience with Kanban and ISO or QS knowledge.
• Strong analytical skills and experience leading strategic supply chain projects.

Nice-to-haves

• Knowledge of computerized inventory systems and scheduling techniques.
• Ability to interpret manufacturing drawings and prints.
