About The Position

The Planner at Skookum Aerospace Manufacturing is responsible for creating accurate production process plans based on customer specifications and documentation. This role involves coordinating with various departments to ensure detailed planning is provided before manufacturing begins, ultimately supporting the company's mission of creating opportunities for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Aerospace or Commercial manufacturing preferred.
  • Experience using MS Office products.
  • Familiarity with AS9100 processes and procedures.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, machining principles, engineering change implementation, buying and ordering procedures, production planning, material requirements planning, inventory control, and ERP system scheduling.
  • Experience with CAD software is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize Skookum's manufacturing ERP system to create manufacturing planning to support customer requirements.
  • Develop manufacturing plans with detailed sequences of operations for efficient fabrication.
  • Maintain engineering drawings and ensure compliance with customer requirements.
  • Schedule and provide key information at meetings for new part implementation.
  • Work with Manufacturing and Customer to address concerns in the manufacturing process or issues with customer engineering.
  • Assist Manufacturing and Programming in determining methods and specifications for manufacturing processes.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Management team to ensure accurate planning prior to release.
  • Identify and source documentation and engineering for programming and manufacturing after contract award.
  • Incorporate Risk Management to identify at-risk parts.
  • Maintain accurate scheduling for parts not yet entered into the ERP system.
  • Review drawings/models and other customer documents to prepare workflow plans.
  • Use modeling software to interrogate customer models and understand GD&T.
  • Identify complex problems and develop solutions.
  • Solicit technical advice from company resources to determine manufacturable processes.
  • Effectively communicate with personnel in varying roles, in person, via telephone, and email.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and maintain planning models and associated records.
  • Understand and follow all ISO:9001/AS9100 policies, procedures, and instructions.
