About The Position

The Planning and Environmental Coordinator position is designed to provide professional assistance to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) staff, particularly in the Southern Nevada District Office (SNDO). This role is part of the BLM Experienced Services Program (ESP), which connects experienced workers aged 55 and older with federal agencies to support their critical missions. The position is temporary and project-based, currently funded for an estimated total of 156 hours, and is intended to help address workforce challenges faced by government agencies. The coordinator will engage in various tasks related to the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and solar projects, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations. The coordinator will be responsible for reviewing and commenting on NEPA documents, providing input on relevant resources, and coordinating with external contractors. This includes writing or reviewing NEPA analyses, communicating with external proponents regarding BLM regulations, and collaborating with other resource specialists within the agency. The role also involves maintaining internal tracking systems, project files, and preparing accomplishment reports. The position is primarily sedentary, with remote work arrangements available, allowing for flexibility in work hours while contributing to meaningful environmental projects.
