About the position

The Director of Planning and Logistics at Sensience is a strategic leadership role responsible for overseeing the entire supply chain process, including inventory management, transportation, and distribution. This position requires the development and execution of comprehensive strategies that align with the company's business goals, ensuring operational excellence and efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in logistics and supply chain management, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving improvements in operational performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage the integration of the Corporate S&OP process.
  • Execute comprehensive strategies for supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control.
  • Align planning and logistics objectives with broader company goals and business strategy.
  • Conduct market analysis and demand forecasting to anticipate future needs.
  • Oversee daily operations of logistics, including transportation, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Ensure operations meet quality standards, performance metrics, and compliance requirements.
  • Lead and mentor a team of planning and logistics professionals.
  • Set performance goals and conduct regular performance reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operations.
  • Develop and manage budgets for planning and logistics activities.
  • Monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare and present financial reports and forecasts to senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
  • Negotiate contracts and service level agreements.
  • Leverage technology and data analytics to drive decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to supply chain disruptions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in supply chain management or logistics, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in strategic planning, process optimization, and team leadership.
  • Deep understanding of supply chain management, logistics, and inventory control.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in logistics and ERP software (i.e. Oracle).

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's degree or MBA is preferred.
  • Familiarity with emerging technologies in logistics.
