About the position

The Project Manager for Planning Design Construction at CommonSpirit Health is responsible for overseeing IT infrastructure design and construction projects. This role involves managing capital project planning, ensuring effective utilization of resources, maintaining compliance with regulations, and providing communication support throughout the project lifecycle. The Project Manager will work closely with various stakeholders to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget, while also improving quality results and facilitating problem-solving.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management of IT Infrastructure design and construction projects as assigned.
  • Facilitate capital project planning, design, and construction related activities.
  • Coordinate area capital plans with facilities and ensure effective utilization of CommonSpirit Health Preferred Provider Network.
  • Improve quality results and facilitate effective utilization of CommonSpirit Health Project Delivery Model (PDM) guidelines and tools.
  • Maintain relationships with authorities having jurisdiction and provide communication support.
  • Assist in preparing project scope and budgets, and monitor control of project expenses.
  • Manage a large number of matrixed IT resources and ensure all technology-related scopes are implemented in coordination with the overall construction schedule.
  • Draft RFPs, select providers, and provide project-specific orientation and training.
  • Establish and enforce project communication policies and guidelines, and identify and correct communication deficiencies.
  • Develop periodic project reports including cost, schedule, and comparative metrics.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Information Technology, or Construction Management.
  • 5+ years of significant experience in IT Infrastructure project management in a hospital environment.
  • Strong background in hospital construction and IT infrastructure project management.
  • Excellent working knowledge of project budgets and control.
  • Experience managing IT infrastructure implementation in operational hospitals.
  • Knowledge in Information Technology space design, including IDF, MDF, and Data Centers.
  • Knowledge in low voltage cable designs related to voice and data networks.
  • Extensive knowledge in equipment planning processes related to Information Technology rooms.

Nice-to-haves

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification preferred.
  • Lean Process Improvement experience.
  • Change Management experience.
  • BICSI RCDD - Registered Communications Distribution Designer certification.
