About the position

The Planning Director at Hari Mari is responsible for driving strategic inventory and sales planning to ensure optimal stock levels and maximize revenue growth across multiple channels. This role involves leveraging data analytics for accurate demand forecasting, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and creating performance analysis and key merchandising metrics. The position requires a proactive approach to decision-making and the ability to adapt swiftly to market changes.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the inventory planning and allocation process to maintain optimal stock levels.
  • Lead the sales forecasting process utilizing data analytics to predict customer demand.
  • Implement a visual data analysis platform to monitor and analyze performance and sell-through metrics.
  • Collaborate with factories to ensure timely flow and delivery of merchandise.
  • Oversee key metrics within Open-To-Buy (OTB), including Weeks of Supply (WOS), sales, returns, markdowns, and margins.
  • Partner with Sales and E-Commerce teams to create demand forecasts based on selling trends.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of forecast variances and implement corrective actions.
  • Facilitate the inventory management strategy to optimize stock distribution and availability.
  • Build and maintain various reports to support the achievement of sales objectives.
  • Undertake ad hoc special projects as needed to support business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Fashion Merchandising, or a relevant field.
  • 7+ years of experience in planning, buying, or allocation.
  • Proficient in NetSuite, SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Google Enterprise products.
  • Proven track record of building strong cross-functional partnerships.
  • Self-motivated with a demonstrated history of success in planning, buying, or allocation.
  • Strong multitasking, organizational, analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in retail or fashion industry planning and buying.
  • Familiarity with advanced data analytics tools.
