About the position

The Planning Manager at Safran will lead a team of planning professionals responsible for scheduling, planning, and inventory activities. This role involves developing production plans, monitoring workflow, ensuring customer delivery requirements, and maintaining accuracy in business systems that impact financial reporting. The Planning Manager will implement strategies for customer satisfaction and oversee production planning within the business unit.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, execute and maintain world-class strategies for planning, scheduling, inventory, and customer satisfaction.
  • Oversee production planning and management activities within the business unit.
  • Develop production plans, budgets, and timelines according to production specifications.
  • Determine production requirements based on plant capacity and production specifications.
  • Communicate needs and objectives to the planning team, providing training, development, and mentoring.
  • Plan workflow and schedules for production departments.
  • Monitor production status and ensure timely delivery.
  • Identify delays and adjust schedules to meet deadlines.
  • Establish and maintain premier customer service.
  • Assist in production risk assessment and mitigation activities.
  • Manage planners to ensure they analyze engineering documents and generate bills of materials (BOM).
  • Plan all materials on dock at kit due dates and deliver requisitions on time to purchasing.
  • Release and order work orders for in-house fabrication and assembly parts.
  • Maintain inventory levels to meet company goals.
  • Approve/analyze drawings in CCB and maintain engineering revision control.
  • Generate work order (WO) instructions in coordination with production and quality.
  • Ensure accuracy of all pertinent data used in the company ERP system.
  • Meet customer requirements and drive continuous improvements within planning, scheduling, and inventory functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 5 years of experience in progressive planning, scheduling, and inventory management in aerospace, automotive, or mechanical manufacturing environments.
  • 2-5 years of experience leading teams.
  • Strong written and verbal business communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of business finance skills and abilities.
  • Understanding of S&OP, planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Problem-solving skills, well organized, detail-oriented, and accurate.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business management, or operations.
  • APICS CPIM and/or ISM certifications.
  • Experience in AS/ISO standards quality management.
  • Problem-solving skills (Six Sigma Green Belt, etc.).
