About the position

The Planning & Research Analyst Senior at South Mountain Community College plays a crucial role in collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and reporting data to support decision-making and organizational performance monitoring. This position serves as a subject matter expert in district databases and data visualization, conducting complex analyses to enhance student access and success while demonstrating a commitment to service excellence and innovation.

Responsibilities

• Develop programs and queries to access, cleanse, and extract data from data warehouses and other sources using tools such as Hyperion and Tableau.
• Create and update visualizations, reports, and dashboards primarily using Tableau software to inform decision-making.
• Perform complex research and analysis, collecting and maintaining institutional data for decision-making purposes.
• Compose, review, and finalize comprehensive documents, reports, and visualizations utilizing tools such as Excel, SPSS, and Tableau.
• Provide professional-level staff support, consultation, and assistance to committees, departments, and employees.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in business statistics, educational studies, business administration, or a related field.
• Four years of professional-level experience in research and analysis, including project coordination.
• Two years of senior-level or lead experience may be required for some assignments.

Nice-to-haves

• Two years of experience extracting data from large datasets using tools like Tableau and SQL.
• Experience using Tableau or Power BI to create data visualizations, reports, and dashboards.
• Experience developing programs and queries for end users to manipulate and extract data.
• Experience designing and administering assessment and evaluation tools.
• Demonstrated experience or certification in Tableau or Power BI.
