The Plant Accountant I, II, Senior position at Tucson Electric Power involves managing plant and asset accounting records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulatory guidelines. Responsibilities

• Determine appropriateness of and prepares entries, corrections and adjustments to plant and specified asset accounting records.
• Evaluate variances and analyze the effects of transactions on various account relationships related to financial statements.
• Evaluate alternative means of treating transactions for monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting and financial reports in conformity with GAAP and FERC guidelines.
• Prepare or oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
• Research and implement solutions on new accounting (GAAP) and regulatory issues (FERC, SEC, ACC, etc.).
• Maintain Projects and Fixed Asset accounting systems and use available tools to query those systems for information.

Requirements

• Requires BS degree in Accounting with 24 units of accounting from an accredited institution or an AA degree in business with 18 units of accounting and 6 years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
