About the position

The Plant Accountant at Avancez Assembly is responsible for analyzing financial trends, costs, revenues, and obligations to predict future financial performance. This role involves maintaining financial systems, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting various accounting processes including month-end closings and reconciliations. The position emphasizes a culture of excellence and continuous improvement, contributing to the overall financial health of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with maintaining financial systems and ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory authorities.
  • Perform monthly intercompany invoicing and reconcile intercompany month end balances, investigate differences.
  • Review and resolve open items on the unconfirmed accounts payable report on a timely basis.
  • Audit accounts payable process and review accounts payable aging.
  • Develop action items to resolve accounts payable issues and liaise with corporate accounts payable for timely payments.
  • Analyze various balance sheet, income statement, and expense accounts, and reconcile differences.
  • Prepare monthly reconciliation of employee benefits and investigate/resolve variances.
  • Perform monthly reconciliation of all accounts and payroll funding posting and reconciliation of related general ledger accounts.
  • Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing processes for all accounting areas as required.
  • Assist with external and internal audits and provide accounting support within the company.
  • Develop SME repertoire to support the company for development and support cross-training initiatives within the company.
  • Recommend, lead, and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 1+ years' of general accounting experience
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Office, Outlook, MFG PRO/QAD or similar ERP experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Experience in creating/reviewing annual/monthly/weekly budgets and forecasts
  • Hands-on experience in month closing process
  • Ability to manage multiple and one-time projects with urgency and confidentiality
  • Willingness to be flexible and work a demanding schedule
  • Goal-oriented and work well in a team environment
  • Organized and detail-oriented
