About the position

The Plant Administrative role at General Mills is essential for coordinating plant-wide activities and events, supporting payroll and timekeeping, and assisting with new employee onboarding and orientation processes. This position provides direct administrative support to the Plant Manager and HR Manager, ensuring smooth operations within the plant. The role requires flexibility in work hours to accommodate plant events and activities, with core hours from 8am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Primary backup for payroll and timekeeping
  • Support plant events such as Family Day, Holiday Meals, Charity drives, and Affinity Network events
  • Manage and support employee retirement preparation and celebrations, service anniversary gifts, and unemployment claim administration
  • Assist with new hire orientation and production hiring
  • Assist with employee onboarding and orientation processes, improvements, and standardization efforts
  • Order food and drinks for meetings
  • Order flowers
  • Manage relationship with Iron Mountain for shredding and storage of documents
  • Create employee personnel files and ensure documentation in compliance with Global Internal Audit standards
  • Provide day-to-day HR customer service to all plant employees, including researching and resolving questions or issues
  • Provide support to Plant HR Team
  • Maintain Outlook distribution lists for employees and managers
  • Assist with Annual Records retention room audits & clean-up
  • Ensure adherence to all plant safety and food safety policies

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED + 2 years' experience
  • Display a high level of integrity
  • Able to manage and protect confidential information
  • Demonstrate ownership and accountability for results
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and able to manage multiple priorities/workstreams
  • Able to learn quickly
  • Able to manage budgets and execute projects on time, within budget
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills
  • Self-starter, enjoys working in a high-paced manufacturing environment
  • Process-oriented, with continuous improvement mindset
