About the position

The Plant Associate at Mueller Sports Medicine Inc. is responsible for performing various factory and manufacturing duties, including assembly, receiving shipments, and shipping orders. This entry-level position requires accurate processing of paperwork and collaboration with team members to ensure timely and efficient operations in the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the Plant Operations Manager and Inventory Control Manager to determine production needs.
  • Create/release planned orders using SAP.
  • Gather correct components with Materials Management and verify against planned orders.
  • Assemble products per specifications or training in a timely manner.
  • Stock finished products back flush using SAP.
  • Receive incoming shipments and verify order contents against packing slips.
  • Complete UPS log of all packages noting their condition upon delivery.
  • Process returned merchandise using the RA form.
  • Gather products per order form and pass them to the packing area.
  • Double-check orders pulled from other associates and sign off on order forms.
  • Package products into boxes and place packing slips on them.
  • Process orders through UPS/FedEx for shipment.
  • Mark boxes with appropriate/special instructions for shipping.
  • Contact freight companies to arrange shipments for larger orders.
  • Process paperwork for freight companies.
  • Load cores onto roll bars and operate wrap machine to create individual rolls.
  • Inspect rolls for product defects and package them for retail.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED or equivalent experience.
  • Previous factory, assembly, shipping/receiving, or applicable experience.
  • Ability to comply with the Mueller Sports Medicine Quality System and current regulatory requirements.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Beginner use of Microsoft products, including Word, Outlook, and Excel.
  • Safe operation of a pallet jack and various machinery.

Nice-to-haves

  • Forklift certification and/or experience.
