About the position

The Plant Controller is responsible for overseeing the internal controls and management of the accounting systems at the plant. This role involves providing accounting, planning, tax, and financial reporting services, as well as making decisions regarding the accounting treatment of financial transactions. The Plant Controller acts as a consultant on financial aspects of plant operations, ensuring accurate reporting and compliance with financial regulations.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate the monthly financial closing, resolving all financial issues during the close.
• Prepare or review monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts and monitor accrual accounts.
• Provide variance analysis to Operations, CFO, Plant Manager, and Sector Controller.
• Lead the physical inventory process and monitor plant inventory levels.
• Update product cost standards in the Oracle ERP system.
• Establish site accounting policies and procedures.
• Assist the Plant Manager with the annual operating plan and five-year forecast.
• Coordinate the development of monthly forecasts and track expenses.
• Assist with the preparation and analysis of capital expenditure requests and major repair projects.
• Prepare year-end audit work papers and interact with auditors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university or college.
• 3-5 years of experience in cost accounting in a process manufacturing environment.
• Strong analytical skills and effective communication abilities.

Nice-to-haves

• Prior experience as a Plant Controller is preferred.
