About the position

The Plant Controller at DCM, Inc. is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the facility, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and managing budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. This role involves collaborating with production teams to optimize cost structures, preparing financial statements, and conducting variance analysis to improve operational efficiency and financial performance.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all financial aspects of the facility, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard the facility's assets and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Manage and analyze product costing, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in cost allocation.
  • Collaborate with production and operations teams to optimize cost structures and identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements and reports to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
  • Conduct regular variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and budgeted performance.
  • Provide insights and recommendations for improving operational efficiency and financial performance.
  • Oversee inventory accounting processes, ensuring accurate valuation and reconciliation.
  • Collaborate with production teams to optimize inventory levels.
  • Participate in the development of annual budgets and forecasts for the facility.
  • Work closely with department heads to align financial plans with operational goals.
  • Coordinate and manage external audits, ensuring compliance with audit requirements.
  • Conduct detailed cost analysis to identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
  • Analyze production costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead, to ensure accurate cost allocation.
  • Develop and maintain standard cost models for products/services.
  • Perform regular variance analysis to compare actual costs to standard costs and investigate discrepancies.
  • Prepare accurate and timely cost reports for management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience demonstrating growth in complexity, difficulty, or level of responsibility.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of extensive experience with auditing, cost accounting, inventory, and consolidation, with manufacturing/retail experience.
  • Proficient in ERP systems and financial software.
  • In-depth knowledge of cost accounting principles and practices.
  • Excellent leadership skills, personal integrity, and business acumen.
