About the position

The Plant Controller at Owens Corning is responsible for providing financial leadership to the Starr, SC manufacturing facility. This role involves maintaining a control environment that complies with internal control policies and Sarbanes Oxley, while also contributing to all areas of plant management. The Plant Controller will lead non-financial administrative processes and drive results to optimize financial performance and shareholder value.

Responsibilities

  • Live the Safety stand, adhere to the safety responsibilities.
  • Participate in the development of operational objectives for the plant aligned with corporate and division strategic objectives.
  • Lead proactive development of contingency plans, productivity improvement, and corrective actions to ensure facility financial results are optimized.
  • Ensure an effective system of internal controls including data integrity, asset protection, budgeting, and adherence to corporate policies and regulations.
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes, and communicate results effectively to management and non-financial personnel.
  • Drive actions to achieve profitability targets and provide insightful analytics for decision making.
  • Work across organizational boundaries to achieve plant, division, or corporate objectives and share best practices.
  • Create an environment for talent development through effective performance management and training.
  • Lead non-financial plant administrative processes and monitor safety accountability.
  • Oversee plant security functions and ensure compliance with security standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or relevant discipline required; MBA, CMA, CPA preferred.
  • Experience in providing leadership within manufacturing operations, including operations planning and investment analysis.
  • Ability to operate in various economic conditions and deliver continuous improvement.
  • Experience in strategic planning and contract negotiation.
  • Proven track record in talent development and succession planning.
  • Demonstrated high growth in previous roles.
