About the position

The Plant Controller position at Cenveo is a full-time role primarily based in the Chicago, IL plant, with responsibilities extending to the Kirksville, MO location. This role is crucial for planning, developing, and directing financial policies and procedures, ensuring accurate financial reporting, and safeguarding company assets through effective control systems. The Plant Controller will collaborate with various departments to interpret operational results and communicate findings to company executives, acting as a key business leader.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly analysis of financial and operational results for the business unit comparing actual results to forecast, budget, and prior year.
  • Interpret the results of operations to all levels of management and track key performance indicators.
  • Perform financial and operational analysis in areas such as customer & job profitability, inventory management, cost of sales review, capacity utilization, and cycle counts.
  • Prepare the monthly operating forecast that provides business leaders with insight towards the expected operational performance of the plant.
  • Manage and review the month-end closing process.
  • Prepare and review journal entries; balance, reconcile, and analyze assigned general ledger accounts.
  • Prepare supporting financial analysis for all business unit capital expenditures.
  • Recommend and implement techniques to reduce working capital, increase efficiencies, cut costs, and take advantage of opportunities.
  • Prepare the yearly budget and review with management.
  • Maintain a system of internal controls to ensure the integrity of financial statements, general ledger balances, and processes in accordance with GAAP, corporate policies, and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external financial and tax audits.
  • Monitor and ensure the accuracy of inventory levels and valuation, including directing the physical and cycle count inventories.

Requirements

  • Experience in financial analysis and reporting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley requirements.
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with various departments.
