As the Plant Controller, we need someone who is ready to provide a variety of support such as manage plants budgets, strategic planning forecasting, month-end closing, journal entries and consults with plant management in all functional areas. This position is based in Sunnyvale, TX. The primary objective of the Plant Controller is to manage the plants budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning. This role involves performing all aspects of general accounting and assisting with audits, reconciliations, and analysis of capital projects as needed. The major functions and scope of this position include performing month-end closing duties, preparing journal entries, reviewing financial accounts, and performing account reconciliations. The Plant Controller will also develop standard product costs, prepare the annual operating budget, and prepare monthly forecasts. Additionally, this role requires preparing weekly and monthly plant financial reports, working with the plant team to track and drive productivity across all departments, and performing special projects and analysis including capital project requests and shutdown/mix analysis. The Plant Controller will review and reconcile plant raw material, WIP, MRO, and finished goods inventories, and consult with plant management in all functional areas of the plant to gather information concerning production, inventories, efficiencies, and plant payroll. Furthermore, this position involves consulting with Headquarters finance, billing, purchasing, and marketing to secure and/or verify financial and pricing information, and performing other related analytical duties as required.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in accounting preferably in a manufacturing company and at the plant or corporate level.
  • SAP experience preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Working knowledge of the laws, regulations, practices, and procedures concerned with the field of accounting.
  • Comprehensive and practical knowledge of GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX).
  • Ability to analyze data and apply results effectively.
  • Proficient in Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment and demonstrate solid time management and organizational skills.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels within the organization.
