CertainTeed, a division of Saint-Gobain, is seeking a Plant Controller to join our team at the Bradenton, Florida location. This role is pivotal in supporting the Grid Joint Venture at our Vaughan, Ontario facility, where the successful candidate will provide value-added analysis to a plant with multiple production lines and a diverse product portfolio. The Plant Controller will oversee plant controlling responsibilities for the Vaughan plant and may be required to travel to other CertainTeed locations as needed, with travel expectations of up to 25% of the time. The position encompasses a blend of plant controlling responsibilities and analytical business performance support. Key responsibilities include managing the timely completion of month-end financial close, analyzing and reconciling accounts to ensure accurate balance sheets and cost statements, preparing and entering adjusting journal entries, and analyzing monthly operating cost variances against standards, prior months, and prior years, providing meaningful commentary on these analyses. The Plant Controller will also maintain proper spending controls, lead the budgeting process, and oversee the annual standard cost roll for manufactured products. Compliance with SGC, CertainTeed, and Ceilings division policies and internal controls is essential, as is monitoring and facilitating Capex project completions and fixed asset capitalizations and retirements. In terms of analytical business performance support, the Plant Controller will assist the plant management team by providing meaningful analysis of costs and trends, developing and improving internal reporting, challenging financial performance results, identifying issues, and proactively initiating analyses and solutions to business challenges. The role also involves identifying and tracking cost savings opportunities, assessing the financial value of capital projects, and developing mid-month forecasts to ensure financial health and operational efficiency.
