About the position

The Plant Controller at fairlife will serve as a key business partner to both plant and financial management, overseeing the daily accounting operations and ensuring effective management and control of the local business. This role is responsible for maintaining fiscal records, preparing financial reports, and managing various accounting practices within the manufacturing plant. The Plant Controller will also play a crucial role in budgeting, forecasting, inventory control, and internal controls, while liaising with corporate financial staff regularly.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the annual budget and contribute to the strategic planning process.
  • Prepare and deliver the plant financial forecasts and projections.
  • Ensure effective internal controls including data integrity, asset protection, and adherence to corporate policies and regulations.
  • Lead communication to ensure accountability for internal controls and document processes.
  • Develop contingency plans and corrective actions to optimize financial results.
  • Analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information, reporting on operating results and performance against budget.
  • Monitor the plant's monthly closing process and communicate results to management and non-financial personnel.
  • Lead actions to achieve financial targets and mitigate risks, providing investment analysis.
  • Educate plant personnel on key performance metrics and improve productivity through project development.
  • Manage and develop the accounting/finance department staff, fostering continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • CPA and/or MBA preferred.
  • 5-10 years of experience as a plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team-building skills.
  • Proficient in accounting systems and financial practices.
  • Strong analytical skills for financial and operational information.

  • Experience with ERP implementation and training.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.
