About the position

As a Plant Controller at Graphic Packaging International, you will play a crucial role in providing financial leadership to one of the largest converting plants within the company. Your primary objective will be to maximize long-term value, cash flows, and shareholder returns in the Americas Converting Division. This position requires a minimum of 5 years of experience in an Accounting or Finance role, with at least 3 years in a manufacturing environment. You will be responsible for delivering accurate and timely financial reporting to ensure that the plant meets its business objectives. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze data and provide management with a fair assessment of key projects, focusing on optimizing operations to generate superior business results. You will also support continuous improvement activities aimed at achieving world-class financial reporting standards. As a member of the plant leadership team, you will lead the financial function for the site, ensuring that financial and management reporting is both accurate and timely. Your responsibilities will include managing the finance process for the entire plant, supervising the financial team, and partnering with plant management to achieve financial and operational objectives. You will provide analytical support to promote continuous improvement across all activities and processes within the plant. Additionally, you will analyze month-end results, develop financial forecasts, coordinate the annual budget process, and monitor plant safety and operating initiatives. Your role will also involve establishing and enforcing internal controls to protect company assets and conducting audits to confirm the financial condition of the plant.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the finance process for the entire plant
  • Manage the plant financial team and supervise inventory control
  • Provide analytical support to promote continuous improvement for all activities and processes of the plant
  • Analyze month end results: P&L and Balance Sheet, including variance analysis
  • Develop month end results package for the Plant to present to Senior Management
  • Provide monthly financial forecasts and analysis
  • Provide key decision support to plant management
  • Coordinate the plant annual budget process; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data
  • Support all plant safety and operating initiatives
  • Monitor and work with plant management to validate savings
  • Provide analytical support for cross functional projects, including customer profitability analysis and pricing
  • Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company's procedures and policies
  • Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
  • Monitor and confirm financial condition by conducting audits (primarily inventory and fixed assets)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a Business-related field required
  • Minimum of 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment with demonstrated strengths in analysis, planning and forecasting
  • Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience
  • Demonstrated ability to drive P&L performance and autonomously lead the financial function for an operating plant
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • ERP systems experience required; SAP preferred
