About the position

The position involves overseeing various financial operations within a manufacturing environment. Key responsibilities include monitoring and controlling inventory, managing overhead spending, and conducting manufacturing cost variance analysis. The role also encompasses month-end closing activities, annual budgeting, and monthly forecasting. Additionally, the position requires the development of measurable goals for department staff and directing finance staff to achieve both plant and corporate objectives. The successful candidate will manage inventories and maintenance and repair orders (MRO) for office supplies, address departmental issues through problem-solving and resolution, and provide various weekly and daily reports as required. The role is crucial for accomplishing plant and company goals and involves the implementation of the QOS process. The candidate will rely on their experience and judgment to plan and accomplish these goals, while also performing related duties and special projects as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Monitors and controls Inventory.
  • Controls overhead spending.
  • Monitors capital plan.
  • Manufacturing cost variance analysis.
  • Month-end closing.
  • Annual budgeting and monitoring.
  • Monthly forecasting.
  • Development of measurable goals for department staff.
  • Direction of finance staff to achieve plant and corporate goals.
  • Management of inventories and maintenance and repair orders (MRO) office supplies.
  • Problem solving & resolution for departmental issues.

Requirements

  • Five years of progressive experience in finance.
  • Must be able to analyze and interpret key financial data to drive operational decisions.
  • Must be pro-active in avoidance of unnecessary problems.
  • Must be able to effectively solve problems using root cause analysis.
  • Computer knowledge of ERP and reporting systems (such as OneStream).
  • Self-directed with a high degree of self-motivation.
  • Proficient computer skills and abilities with Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • At least one year of operational accounting experience in manufacturing and at least 2 years of experience in an accounting supervisory role.
