About the position

The Plant Director is responsible for overseeing the operations of a dairy facility near Sheboygan, ensuring accountability for safety, quality, sanitation, cost, customer service, cheesemaking, milk receiving, and people development. This role is crucial for driving performance improvements that align with business targets and support the growth of the Dairy Foods division, which operates continuously throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Provide overall direction for the dairy facility.
• Accountable for plant results in safety, quality, sanitation, cost, customer service, cheesemaking, and milk receiving.
• Drive improved performance in all operational areas to meet business targets.
• Support the growth of the Dairy Foods division.
• Develop and coach teamwork and collaboration to enhance plant culture and business results.
• Manage financial and budgetary aspects of the plant operations.

Requirements

• 10+ years of progressive food/beverage manufacturing experience.
• Proven leadership experience managing managers.
• History of delivering sustainable results in a manufacturing environment.
• Undergraduate degree preferred; high school diploma or equivalent acceptable with strong food manufacturing background.
• Demonstrated success in union environments and contract negotiations.
• Experience in Employee/Labor Relations.
• Proven track record with Manufacturing Transformation/change management.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in large company food/beverage manufacturing.
• Knowledge of financial and budgetary management.
