About the position

The Plant Engineering & Technical Services Manager at Ocean Spray is responsible for leading the design, development, and implementation of technical systems improvements to enhance manufacturing reliability and process capability. This role involves managing engineering services, capital planning, and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards while driving continuous improvement initiatives and supporting sustainability efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the design, development, and implementation of technical systems improvements.
  • Direct engineering/technical services, process control, and capital planning.
  • Responsible for continuous improvement initiatives related to engineering.
  • Support sustainability through optimized energy management and packaging reduction initiatives.
  • Manage financial aspects of projects.
  • Develop capability to rapidly ramp-up new products, packages, and processes.
  • Drive initiatives in fixed asset management, plant layout, and flow manufacturing.
  • Engage in budgeting, planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and delegating for Controls & Automation and Maintenance.
  • Serve as a key member of the plant leadership team in developing strategic direction and priorities.
  • Work with plant functional managers to maintain a positive employee relations environment.
  • Manage employees for effective selection, retention, development, and performance management.

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of operations from a technical perspective.
  • High-level management and business skills.
  • Extensive financial knowledge base and understanding of HR policies and procedures.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Computer, technical, and training abilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, business, or related field.
  • Several years of managerial experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Sound understanding of CMMS systems.
  • Familiarity with boilers, ammonia refrigeration, power distribution, and other building systems.
  • Experience managing Maintenance Technicians.
