About the position

The Plant Human Resources Generalist/Bilingual in Spanish plays a crucial role in enhancing the employee experience within a manufacturing environment. This position collaborates closely with the site HR Manager and Operations team to ensure that HR administrative duties align with overall business objectives. The Plant HR Generalist is primarily responsible for managing the recruiting and onboarding processes for production employees, which includes overseeing temporary staffing solutions. Additionally, this role involves assisting with employee benefits and supporting the company's Time and Attendance/Payroll System and HRIS Systems. The Plant HR Generalist will also be involved in planning and executing employee events and activities, ensuring that all HR programs and policies are in compliance with company standards as well as state and federal regulations. In this role, the HR Generalist will administer compensation, benefits, and performance management systems, while also evaluating departmental personnel and organizational structures. The position requires effective management of the hiring selection process, which includes sourcing, screening, and interviewing candidates to build a strong candidate pool. The HR Generalist will provide current and prospective employees with essential information regarding policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and opportunities for promotion and benefits. Furthermore, the role involves investigating and administering disciplinary procedures, coaching managers on performance issues, and advising on organizational policy matters, particularly concerning legal compliance and equal employment opportunities. The Plant HR Generalist will also analyze and modify compensation structures to ensure competitive programs and compliance with legal requirements. Planning and conducting employee orientation and facilitating training programs are also key responsibilities. This position supports the development planning process and ensures that policies and procedures are administered accurately and consistently. Minimal travel is expected in this role, allowing the HR Generalist to focus on supporting the manufacturing leadership team and associates effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Administer compensation, benefits and performance management systems.

  • Provide information to employees about policies, job duties, working conditions, wages, and benefits.
  • Investigate and administer disciplinary procedures as needed.
  • Coach and mentor managers on performance issues.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters and recommend changes.
  • Analyze and modify compensation to ensure compliance and competitiveness.
  • Plan and conduct employee orientation and training programs.
  • Support the development planning process.
  • Administer policies and procedures for consistent application.

Requirements

  • College Degree in Human Resources or a related field; experience may be accepted in lieu of a degree.
  • Minimum of 3 to 4 years of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing plant.
  • PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish, fluent in reading, writing, and speaking.
  • Ability to work across shifts, including night shifts, to support all manufacturing leadership team members.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft, eTime, ADP, and good organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and communicate information effectively.
  • Ability to apply general rules to specific problems and recognize issues to initiate corrective actions.
