About the position

The Plant Human Resources Manager will oversee the HR department at Donaldson's Frankfort and Monticello, IN locations, managing a small team and providing comprehensive HR support to approximately 490 plant staff. This role involves leading HR initiatives, developing policies, and acting as a business partner with plant leadership to enhance employee engagement and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Provides general expertise to management on all areas of Human Resources.
  • Develops, implements, and coordinates policies, programs, and strategies covering employment, wage and salary administration, orientation and training, organizational development, succession planning, safety and health, benefits, and employee services.
  • Participates with business group leadership to evaluate, modify, and enhance existing programs or develop new programs.
  • Provides coaching, counsel, and support for management and employees concerning various human resources policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for providing comprehensive HR support to the plant, including recruitment and employment, personnel record management, employee relations, job evaluation, compensation management, workers' compensation, benefits administration, organization development, training, AA/EEO, and special projects.
  • Acts as a liaison between departments/divisions for all levels of line and staff management, including compensation and benefits, legal counsel, compliance, and outside service providers.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures and their dissemination through employee booklets, communications, and/or meetings.
  • Prepares reports in conformance with legislative requirements or organization needs.
  • Procures human resources, training, compensation, and other activities needed to carry out human resources objectives and programs.
  • Drives improved retention through employee engagement & recognition programs.
  • Supports local recruitment activities including background check process.
  • Directly manages an on-site HR team.
  • Supports other plant locations as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, business or related field or at least 10+ years of professional human resources experience.
  • 7+ years of professional human resources experience including a combination of supervisory experience, employee relations, talent acquisition, and Human Resources Business Partner experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship.
