About the position

The Plant Maintenance Foreman at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is responsible for leading maintenance operations in the university's steam and power generation facilities. Responsibilities

• Lead maintenance work in steam generating and electrical generating facilities.
• Provide technical expertise and support to the Plant Maintenance workgroup.
• Oversee and guide technicians in safe maintenance practices.
• Coordinate with contractors and vendors for maintenance and repair projects.
• Perform in-depth analysis and diagnostic work on complex systems.
• Train junior technicians in maintenance procedures and safety protocols.
• Schedule and prioritize work assignments for the maintenance team.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Two years of related experience in industrial maintenance or equivalent training.
• Valid NC Driver's License.
• Demonstrated logical problem-solving skills.
• Experience in leadership and mentorship roles.

Nice-to-haves

• Power plant operating experience.
• Familiarity with MAXIMO work management system.
• Working knowledge of personal computers and associated software applications.
