About the position
The Corporate Plant Maintenance Mechanic at Buffalo Rock Company plays a crucial role in the maintenance and repair of machinery and mechanical equipment within the corporate plant. This position is essential for ensuring operational efficiency and safety, requiring a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and fixing mechanical issues. The mechanic will work closely with the Corporate Maintenance Team to uphold the company's standards in food safety and equipment functionality.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment according to diagrams, sketches, operation manuals, and manufacturer's specifications.
- Observe mechanical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
- Dismantle devices to access and remove defective parts using various tools.
- Inspect used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments using hand tools and measuring instruments.
- Repair or replace functional and structural parts in devices.
- Start devices to test their performance after repairs.
- Lubricate and clean parts as necessary.
- Set up and operate metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
- Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines as needed.
- Repair electrical equipment and perform welding and burning tasks as required.
Requirements
- High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED).
- 3 plus years of experience in Manufacturing Maintenance.
