About the position

The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance tasks within a commercial laundry plant. This role focuses on ensuring the efficient operation of equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and addressing emergent repairs as needed. The technician will work closely with production supervisors and engineering personnel to maintain equipment functionality and minimize downtime.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance activities on equipment as scheduled.
• Ensure timely and quality completion of all maintenance and repairs, including overhead rail system and conveyor systems.
• Assist technical and mechanical personnel including outside vendors as needed.
• Maintain the maintenance log by making entries of incomplete tasks and new problems.
• Notify Production Supervisors on the status of any equipment that will impact production or cause downtime and when back online.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Must be team oriented and able to function individually or with a team.
• Self-motivated, independent, prompt, and able to handle tasks as they present themselves.
• Solid communication skills.
• Ability to operate tools and equipment safely.
• Understanding of safety procedures, including lockout/tag out, confined space entry, and working on hot equipment.
• Ability to maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Good working knowledge of machinery.
• Ability to help repair and maintain mechanical drive systems, conveyor systems, and overhead rail systems.
