About the position

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring that all employees complete their assigned tasks while enforcing safety measures. This role involves training, scheduling, and managing employees, as well as maintaining compliance with regulations and inventory management. The Plant Manager plays a crucial role in meeting production goals and ensuring product quality according to the Quality Management System.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in setting company goals.
  • Oversees daily operations and tasks in the plant to ensure all goals are met.
  • Devises strategies to enhance production efficiency.
  • Runs plant meetings.
  • Assigns tasks to employees as necessary.
  • Creates presentations to outline new production strategies.
  • Hires new plant employees.
  • Trains employees.
  • Schedules employee shifts.
  • Monitors employee productivity.
  • Writes reports on production activity and employee performance.
  • Maintains production records.
  • Conducts performance reviews.
  • Leads safety instructional sessions.
  • Enforces plant safety rules.
  • Takes inventory of supplies.
  • Orders supplies when needed.
  • Enforces company policies.
  • Disciplines or terminates employees if necessary.
  • Assists in handling employee payroll and plant budget.
  • Maintains plant efficiency by motivating employees.
  • Maintains plant organization and cleanliness.
  • Addresses employee concerns and complaints and resolves issues.
  • Refers employees to HR if needed.
  • Reports to the Director of Operations with updates.
  • Participates in the plant's strategic planning.
  • Inspects plant floor and equipment to ensure proper functioning.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree or comparable experience.
  • Previous experience in the fabrication field is required.
  • Managerial experience preferred.
  • Bilingual (Spanish) required.
  • Strong background in steel fabrication and assembly processes including forming, welding, machining, assembly, and paint.
  • Proficiency in utilizing ERP systems.
