About the position

The Plant Manager will oversee operations at a leading plastics manufacturing facility in Chicago, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment. This role involves managing staff development, monitoring performance metrics, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and maintain competitiveness in the market.

Responsibilities

• Creates a culture that promotes safety as a top priority.
• Monitor KPI's to track performance and identify areas of improvement.
• Drive continuous improvement and constantly evaluate productivity.
• Responsible for development, training, and coaching of staff.
• Set individual and team goals for staff and provide continuous feedback.
• Oversee all operations in the plant on all shifts.
• Conduct timely annual reviews and evaluations of staff.
• Manage budgetary responsibilities, including cost control, inventory, supply chain, and forecasting.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements, implementing best practices.

Requirements

• 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics preferred but not mandatory).
• Fluency in Spanish is required.
• Experience in utilizing Lean and Kaizen initiatives to improve plant efficiency.
