About the position

Our client is an industry-leading plastics manufacturing company located in Chicago, IL, seeking a dedicated and experienced Plant Manager. This role is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the plant, which is currently in excellent condition. The Plant Manager will be responsible for creating a culture that prioritizes safety, monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) to track performance, and identifying areas for improvement. The ideal candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives and constantly evaluate productivity to enhance operational efficiency. In this role, the Plant Manager will oversee all operations across multiple shifts, ensuring that the plant runs smoothly and efficiently. They will be responsible for the development, training, and coaching of staff, setting individual and team goals, and providing continuous feedback to foster a productive work environment. Additionally, the Plant Manager will conduct timely annual reviews and evaluations of staff performance, manage budgetary responsibilities including cost control, inventory management, supply chain oversight, and forecasting. The Plant Manager will also stay up to date with industry trends and technological advancements, implementing best practices to maintain a competitive edge in the market. This position offers a base salary of up to $170,000 per year, along with a target bonus of up to 20%. Responsibilities

Requirements

  • 5+ years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment (plastics preferred but not mandatory).
  • Fluency in Spanish is a must.
  • Experience in utilizing Lean and Kaizen initiatives to improve plant efficiency.
