About the position

The Plant Manager at Venteon is responsible for overseeing the operations of a leading automotive supplier in Northern Indiana. This full-time, permanent position focuses on creating a culture of continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and driving performance to meet financial and strategic goals. The role involves managing a motivated workforce, aligning operational objectives with business goals, and fostering an environment that promotes improvement and customer relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Create a culture of continuous improvement using lean tools such as policy deployment, 5-S, standard work, kaizen, and process confirmation.
  • Maintain a motivated workforce with performance measured at or above acceptable levels.
  • Drive performance to achieve or exceed financial plans and strategic goals while ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
  • Set overall plant policies and procedures for effective operations consistent with company values.
  • Coordinate and direct all functions of facility operations, including Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality, Materials, and Finance.
  • Align operational objectives with overall business objectives to ensure a strategy-focused workforce.
  • Manage operating performance through effective use of the company's processes and structured problem solving.
  • Direct and mentor the plant leadership team in their respective roles.
  • Foster an environment that promotes goals, encourages continuous improvement, and builds customer relationships.
  • Develop, control, and critically review operational results against planned objectives.
  • Make day-to-day decisions impacting safety, quality, efficiency, and profitability of the plant.
  • Attract, select, develop, train, coach, appraise, and motivate managers and key personnel.
  • Represent the company in the local community to enhance its image and reputation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Operations is strongly preferred.
  • 5 to 10 years of previous Automotive Plant Management experience is required.
  • Automotive Metal Stamping and Welded/Assembly expertise is preferred.
  • Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven leadership skills in a constantly changing environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and coordinate project assignments with employees, customers, and suppliers.
  • Experience with Lean, Six Sigma, and/or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office.
  • Ability to administer corporate policies and procedures.
