About The Position

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing manufacturing operations to meet key objectives related to safety, quality, cost, delivery, and financial performance. This role ensures a safe working environment, manages plant resources, and leads capacity planning activities. The Plant Manager also promotes adherence to the Summit Lean Manufacturing System (SLMS) and engages in successful new product launches while managing plant staff and fostering a positive work environment.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience at a technical or management level.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and procedures, budgeting and costing, quality control procedures, and human resource management techniques.
• 4 year degree or 7 years progressive experience in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Meet manufacturing operation objectives including safety, quality, cost, delivery, and financial performance.
• Ensure a safe working environment through safe work practices and employee awareness.
• Plan plant resources including personnel, capital equipment, and facilities.
• Conduct capacity planning activities and update plant sales forecasts.
• Ensure adherence to Summit Lean Manufacturing System (SLMS) practices.
• Engage in the product development process for successful new product launches.
• Promote root cause problem solving using Practical Problem Solving (PPS).
• Manage and provide leadership to plant staff managers and conduct daily staff meetings.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 14001 standards.
• Lead the annual development of the manufacturing plant budget.
• Manage overall plant personnel activities and customer relationships.
• Provide resources to protect and maintain the facility.
• Communicate plant performance and receive employee feedback.
