About the position

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring safety, quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction. This role involves driving strategic plans to meet production goals cost-effectively while delivering expected financial results. The Plant Manager will lead continuous improvement initiatives and manage profit and loss for the facility, focusing on performance metrics and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the facility produces the highest quality products efficiently and within budget.
  • Implement systems to manage production schedules effectively.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives to foster continuous improvement.
  • Proactively resolve problems affecting operations.
  • Manage profit and loss for the facility and review KPIs regularly.
  • Lead strategic planning efforts including cost reduction and capital planning.
  • Oversee safety, quality, scheduling, production, shipping, maintenance, and administrative functions.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and efficient operation in compliance with regulations.
  • Conduct weekly safety walks and strive to improve safety culture.
  • Conduct talent reviews and train, develop, and motivate staff.
  • Deliver performance reviews and feedback to team members.
  • Schedule and conduct weekly staff meetings focusing on key metrics.
  • Interface with customers and suppliers to establish positive relationships.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Engineering, Operations, or Business Management.
  • 7-10 years of experience in operations, maintenance, engineering, or process improvement roles.
  • Previous experience in a Lean manufacturing environment.
  • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification is a plus.
  • Proven success in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with plastic injection molding and metal processing/metal forming is preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process development and business process design.
  • Experience managing to ISO or equivalent quality standards.
  • Experience implementing and managing an Operating System.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a commercial role with direct customer contact.
