About the position

The Plant Manager at EMIT Technologies, Inc. is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring efficiency, quality, productivity, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. This role requires a proactive leader skilled in lean manufacturing who is committed to optimizing processes, driving improvements, and enhancing safety standards while collaborating with various teams to meet company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all daily operations of the plant to meet company performance, safety, and cost objectives.
  • Implement and sustain lean manufacturing practices across the facility, identifying and reducing inefficiencies, waste, and bottlenecks.
  • Lead kaizen events, 5S initiatives, value stream mapping, and other lean processes.
  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing, goal-oriented team by conducting training on lean principles and fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Continuous Improvement, and Safety teams to drive improvements and align production with company standards, ensuring quality assurance and compliance.
  • Optimize resources to ensure cost-effective production strategies and efficient resource allocation.
  • Maintain a safe and compliant workplace by enforcing OSHA standards, conducting safety audits, and organizing regular safety training for all team members.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess plant performance, using data to make informed decisions and implement adjustments as needed.
  • Partner with R&D, Sales, and other departments to support product development, meet delivery schedules, and enhance customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
  • 5+ years of plant management experience, preferably in a lean manufacturing environment
  • Proven experience implementing lean manufacturing methodologies (Six Sigma certification is a plus)
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills with experience managing diverse teams
  • Proficiency in ERP systems, data analysis, and project management tools
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive mindset
  • Skilled in lean tools such as Kaizen, 5S, JIT, and value stream mapping
  • Ability to inspire and lead teams towards achieving operational goals
  • Understanding of budgeting and cost control
  • Strong verbal and written skills for effective collaboration across departments
