About the position

The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing shop employees in a manufacturing and assembly environment. This role involves planning and assigning work, implementing policies and procedures, and recommending improvements in production methods and working conditions to enhance efficiency and productivity.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate job expectations and monitor job results; coach and discipline employees as necessary.
  • Orient and train employees while developing personal growth opportunities.
  • Monitor workflow by observing control points and equipment, and implementing cost reductions.
  • Schedule and assign personnel to complete production plans and monitor progress.
  • Establish and enforce organization standards to maintain quality service.
  • Ensure equipment operation by coordinating repairs and evaluating new techniques.
  • Compile and analyze production performance records and respond to inquiries.
  • Create and revise systems and procedures based on operational practices and requirements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment by educating personnel on safety protocols.
  • Analyze personnel problems and recommend solutions based on data investigation.
  • Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops and participating in professional societies.
  • Achieve and maintain key performance indicators (KPIs) for the plant.
