About the position

As a Water Resources Plant Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing essential equipment that powers the water resources of the community. This role involves working with a variety of systems, including pumps, motors, and generators, to ensure their optimal performance and compliance with safety standards. You will also have the opportunity to mentor junior mechanics and contribute to the overall efficiency of the water systems.

Responsibilities

• Install, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on essential water resources equipment.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and recommend repairs or replacements.
• Log all work, repairs, and preventive measures taken on equipment.
• Support and guide junior team members and maintenance helpers.
• Be available for a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours and weekend needs.
• Assist with the hauling of ashes and screening as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• 3 years of education and 6 years of related work experience in a mechanical or electronic field, or 4 years of related experience in the mechanical or electronic field.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Prior experience with small tools, welders, cutting torches, etc.
• Class B Commercial Driver's License or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Certified Forklift Operator or the ability to obtain one within 6 months from date of hire.

Nice-to-haves

• Previous work experience in a Water Reclamation facility.
• Experience with Microsoft Office.
• Previous experience working with diesel power generators.
