About the position

The Plant Operations Director at Seneca Hill Manor is responsible for overseeing the Environmental Services and Maintenance departments, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local standards. This role involves planning, organizing, and directing operations to maintain a safe and well-maintained facility, while also managing budgets and staff performance.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, reviews, and revises facility policies and procedures to maintain compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
  • Establishes regular meetings with environmental services and maintenance staff to ensure effective communication and operations.
  • Supervises and directs the operation of Plant Operations, including the development of a preventative maintenance program.
  • Manages operational and capital budgets for environmental services and plant maintenance, investigating variances and reporting to the Administrator.
  • Communicates daily with staff regarding work assignments, scheduling, and operational issues.
  • Demonstrates core leadership values of open communication, mutual respect, and collaboration.
  • Develops programs to monitor the quality of environmental services and maintenance, focusing on safety and cleanliness.
  • Participates in quality assurance programs and conducts audits as necessary.
  • Continuously evaluates departmental effectiveness and reports findings to the Administrator.
  • Promotes collaboration with management and implements recommendations from various departments.
  • Directs staffing levels to ensure safe and appropriate care for residents and staff.
  • Reports deficiencies in maintenance and environmental practices to the Administrator.
  • Responsible for staff selection, hiring, evaluation, and termination in coordination with Human Resources.

Requirements

  • Ability to supervise, direct, and evaluate environmental services and maintenance staff.
  • Effective communication, conflict resolution, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of staffing and supply needs for quality resident care.
  • Demonstrated safe technique in equipment use and conducting safety rounds.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Professionalism and business acumen for interactions with various stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills and a sense of urgency in task completion.
  • Ability to manage resources and supplies cost-effectively.
  • Experience in facility maintenance including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and construction.
  • Experience in environmental services including cleaning and infection prevention.
  • Five or more years of experience in a management/supervisory role.
