About the position

The Plant Operations Specialist at Starbucks plays a crucial role in enhancing manufacturing and maintenance operations within the roasting plant. This position is responsible for evaluating operational improvement needs, implementing technical strategies, and ensuring effective communication across various teams to achieve project objectives. The specialist will also champion predictive maintenance programs and serve as a technical resource, providing training and support to partners in the plant environment.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate plant operational improvement needs and recommend technical strategies.
  • Engage cross-functional partners to analyze and solve complex problems.
  • Communicate with internal and external contacts regarding project objectives.
  • Own and drive equipment design changes for safer and more reliable operation.
  • Champion the Predictive Maintenance Program including vibration analysis and thermal imaging.
  • Develop procedures and reference materials for preventive maintenance strategies.
  • Audit plant PM schedules and documentation accuracy.
  • Serve as a plant liaison for network maintenance initiatives.
  • Train partners on new processes, systems, and equipment.
  • Provide education and mentorship to mechanics and operators.

Requirements

  • Engineering degree preferred or equivalent experience (4 Years) in a similar field.
  • 3 years of data analysis experience.
  • 3 years of experience in developing new equipment and process procedures.
  • 3 years of experience in a technical or operational role in manufacturing or distribution.
  • 3 years of project management experience.
  • Familiarity with food safety regulatory requirements and global standards.
