About the position

The Plant Operations Specialist at Marrakech Inc. is responsible for performing extensive and routine repair and preventative maintenance projects for residential and commercial properties throughout Connecticut. This role involves a variety of tasks including electrical, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, and painting, ensuring that all properties are maintained to a high standard and that repairs are completed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

• Independently performs minor and major repairs and routine maintenance for agency property (homes/offices) including vehicles.
• Diagnoses repair work needed and makes independent judgment of how to best handle the repair in the most timely and cost efficient manner.
• Assists with the renovation/remodeling of buildings; repairs plaster and drywall; paints building structures.
• Completes masonry work as needed.
• Repairs electrical equipment and replaces faulty electrical switches.
• Shampoo carpets as needed.
• Install carpeting and other flooring as needed.
• Completes lawn and garden care for the specified program sites.
• Replaces broken windows; repairs doors, door locks and closets; installs window blinds.
• Assists with program site/consumer moves.
• Picks up/drops off donations.
• Assists in maintaining agency vehicles in good/safe repair.
• Ensures the timely completion of all requests for repairs.
• Ensures requisitions are completed accurately and on time.
• Secures estimates on large purchases or repair needs.
• Consults with the Director of Plant Operations on a regular basis on all equipment and repair needs.
• Purchases supplies and equipment through requisition process.
• Maintains receipts and other required documentation to review with Supervisor.
• Provides satisfactory customer service to program managers and consumers by completing tasks competently, on time, and by communicating clearly with all customers.
• Ensures that after all jobs materials are stored and secured properly for safety and for preventative theft measures.

Requirements

• Experience with plant operations including carpentry, roofing, basic electrical and plumbing, flooring install, general repair and maintenance, landscaping.
• Must have own, insured vehicle for use for the position.
